I became acquainted with AGLP due to their yard sale at the mansion. My young daughter had seen yard sale signs and wanted to go. The day came, and she was so excited! I gave her a small amount of money and allowed her to go check it out since we live in the neighborhood.I was newly separated from her dad and struggling as a single mom, and she was so looking forward to the treasures she might find! She came home a short while later with her wares, AND change! She told me there were shoes she wished she could buy, but didn’t have enough. I was so shocked (and grateful) that she came back with change, I found a few more dollars and sent her back for the shoes. She loved the independence, I loved that the people running the yard sale didn’t take advantage of a young girl.

After that experience, my daughter and I came back to the mansion. We have volunteered a few times (not nearly often enough!), and we got to know Shauna, the other volunteers, and the mission.

A while later, volunteers from the mansion approached me about improvement projects for my home. They cleaned up my landscaping, replaced my fence, and helped repair my front walkway. They even upgraded the numbers on the front of my house, taking care to preserve the fact that the numbers were an art project my daughter and I had done when we first moved into the home. The angels from the mansion have also delivered bread to my front porch, multiple times. I do love some homemade bread! When I had a furnace failure this year, Shauna offered me prayer and financial assistance. Luckily, her prayers were enough and I didn’t need money. But AGLP has been a blessing to my family and my neighborhood for at least 7 years now. They’ve made it better, and only ever asked for prayer in return.

2018 was a tough year for me. I was using drugs and drinking alcohol. I wasn’t a good mom and and had lost hope. I have always been a believer of Christ but the relationship was one sided. God used Amazing Grace at Logan Place to answer my prayers. Those prays late at night, asking God for a way out,while in the fetal position on the floor. I was tired, helpless, and hopeless. God used Amazing Grace at Logan Place right on time. The founder came to my job and changed my life forever. I had been praying for a car and told God I would stop I just need to see that He didn’t give up on me. Amazing Grace at Logan Place gave me a car. I had been praying for a car because I didn’t have one and had a baby. God told them that He wanted to give me the car!!!! That day in August, I had came to believe again that my God never left me. I stopped doing drugs that day and left a toxic relationship. I would like to say I stayed clean but had some more lessons to learn. Today I have a year and a couple months clean off drugs and alcohol and if it wasn’t for God using Amazing Grace at Logan Place in 2018, I don’t know where I would be. I love you all. God bless!
